Durian Cream Puffs

  • powdered sugar1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 425°F (220°C) and lining a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, bring the water and butter to a boil.
  3. Add the flour to the boiling mixture all at once, stirring vigorously until the mixture forms a ball.
  4. Remove from heat and let it cool for 5 minutes. Then, beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  5. Drop heaped tablespoons of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes until golden brown. Let them cool completely.
  7. While the puffs are cooling, prepare the durian cream. In a bowl, combine the durian pulp, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth.
  8. Cut a small hole in the bottom of each cooled puff and fill with the durian cream. Serve immediately.

Notes

If you can't find fresh durian, frozen durian pulp is a good substitute. Make sure to thaw it before using. The cream puffs are best served immediately but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
